VK: "De kabinetsplannen op het gebied van milieu-, klimaat- en natuurbeleid zorgen ervoor dat Nederland zijn Europese verplichtingen op dit gebied slechts ten dele kan nakomen. Dat staat in een notitie van het Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving (PBL), die staatssecretaris Joop Atsma van Milieu vandaag naar de Tweede Kamer stuurde.
De rekenmeesters plaatsen ook vraagtekens bij het behalen van het Europese streefpercentage 'hernieuwbare energie' in 2020. Dergelijke energie wordt opgewekt uit bijvoorbeeld zonnestraling, windkracht en aardwarmte."
Het huidige kabinet is zeer negatief bezig met milieu en natuur. Terwijl toch duidelijk is dat meer groen een dringende noodzaak is.
DeGroeneStad: "Verdamping uit bomen en vijvers in stadsparken, zoals Central Park in New York, helpt niet alleen de stad afkoelen, maar ook de hele planeet.
Het was lang onduidelijk wat het effect is van water dat verdampt uit bomen. Onderzoekers van het Ecology Department van Carnegie besluiten in een nieuwe studie dat de verdamping de aarde afkoelt, en dat het effect niet beperkt blijft tot het lokale klimaat."
CarnegieInstitutionForScience: "Evaporative cooling is the process by which a local area is cooled by the energy used in the evaporation process, energy that would have otherwise heated the area’s surface. It is well known that the paving over of urban areas and the clearing of forests can contribute to local warming by decreasing local evaporative cooling, but it was not understood whether this decreased evaporation would also contribute to global warming
The Earth has been getting warmer over at least the past several decades, primarily as a result of the emissions of carbon dioxide from the burning of coal, oil, and gas, as well as the clearing of forests. But because water vapor plays so many roles in the climate system, the global climate effects of changes in evaporation were not well understood.
Increased evaporation tends to cause clouds to form low in the atmosphere, which act to reflect the sun’s warming rays back out into space. This has a cooling influence."
