SP: "SP-Kamerlid Henk van Gerven is blij dat staatssecretaris Dijksma gezwicht is voor de felle kritiek op haar plannen om natuurgebieden te verkopen. 'Het is goed dat Dijksma tot inkeer is gekomen. Dat onzalige plan was een ramp voor onze natuur.'"
Dat is mooi. Maar iedereen die ooit een melding aan de Algemene Inspectiedienst (AID, vallend onder de Nederlandse Voedsel- en Waren Autoriteit) heeft gestuurd over inbreuken op de Flora- en Faunawet weet dat mevr. Dijksma ondanks haar steun voor de voortzetting van de EHS weinig doet aan de instandhouding van de EHS en de bescherming van fauna en flora. Zij speelt mooi weer terwijl de toestand op verschillende punten toch voortdurend verslechtert. En dan is er nog de sluipende aantasting van de volksgezondheid door de aanhoudende verspreiding van gifstoffen in onze natuur en omgeving. Het beleid van Kamp en Dijksma krijgt een dikke onvoldoende.

Iets wat vroeger nauwelijks voorkwam was kanker bij kinderen. Dat bestond in mijn tijd niet. Dat tegenwoordig ook peuters al hieraan kunnen lijden zou iedereen zeer moeten verontrusten, want het betekent dat kinderen kankerverwekkende stoffen binnenkrijgen, in voeding of door andere oorzaken.
Milieudefensie: "Uit onderzoek van Milieudefensie en Friends of the Earth Europe in achttien Europese landen blijkt dat mensen het gif glyfosaat in hun lichaam hebben. Guardian: "Slug poison was found in one in eight rivers and reservoirs used for drinking water in England and Wales according to the Environment Agency's (EA) most recent survey, prompting environmentalists to call for greater use of natural predators instead of chemicals.
The EA told the Guardian that between 2009 and 2011 concentrations of metaldehyde, used by farmers to protect their crops from slugs, were found in 81 of 647 reservoirs, rivers and groundwater from which drinking water is sourced.
